Printables
Do you know what printables are?
If you answered “something that you can print out” you would be right. Printables are something that have become very popular for all sorts of things from party invitations and all the extras that go with that to labels for just about everything. Keeping you organised around your home.
I was wanting to keep a garden journal, my garden has grown like Topsy. I did look for one that I could purchase or even a journal type book I could use for my garden. Couldn’t find anything that would suit so, I designed my own, flexible pages that I can print out and use how I wanted.
So I now have my own printables that I use for my garden journal and I’d like to share them with you.
The basic pages are –
The cover page of course then there is a graph page so you can plan your garden layout, you may like to use a graph page for each garden and position your individual plants in that plan or use a graph page for the front area, another for the back or another for the vegetables. That’s the beauty of printables for your garden.
My Garden Plans - I use this printable to draw a plan of where my gardens are and number each garden.
My Plant List - I have one of these for each garden. I add the garden number to the top of the page, then I list the plants in each garden.
Plant Profile - To this page I add the tag that comes with the plant and then add the various areas from the tag. I can also add other information regarding the plant.
My Garden Journal page - This is where I write up whatever I do to each plant in each garden and keep that page with the My Plant List garden page.
The Weekly Planner page can take a month of days so you can add your own month and don't need a calendar, make your own. |
I have also included my working list spreadsheet that I use for when I do the basics like mulching, fertilising, pruning, weeding etc with the my codes, you can make up your own too.
I use a 2 ring binder to keep my pages in and add the pages I need as I go. So I am keeping my garden journal up to date and have a better process of what I am doing and when I need to do it again. I love how the garden experts tell you to do this and do that and when you should be doing it and if this is the only planting you have then that’s fine but I have a sort of large garden and a variety of plants so I can now keep my plants happy and a happy plant is a happy gardener!!
