Keyword Research with WWW

I thought I would add this report here, it is from my How Do You Series.  It is about a new part  of Google’s searching tools.

We seem to start all keyword research in the same place, at Google.

Where we finish up though is the important thing, more to the point how we get there in the most efficient and least possible time and get the results.

Google have a new tool, it’s called Wonder Wheel and combined with another addon for Firefox and Internet Explorer, can save so much time when researching a niche.

I’ve taken a few screenshots to show you the options available, these are only the basics, I’m sure you will find more as you use the tools.

We start with the usual, Google Search and enter the keyword.

Once the results come up, click on the “Show options”

image

So after you click on Show options on the left hand side will appear a menu.

Google is helping us all the time with the options they have available for searching so we can hone in on a particular area but the Wonder Wheel makes this so much easier

So go ahead and click on “Wonder Wheel”.

And, there is the wheel with your original keyword in the center and related keywords on the wheel spokes.

image

Clicking on one of the wheel spokes will add another wheel with the connected spokes giving you more options for searching your related keywords.

image

As each new wheel is connected the search results to the right change to reflect the new keywords.

image

You can go back and forth from one wheel to the other and each new keyword selected will add another wheel.

No more thinking what new related keyword to include in the search.

But wait there’s More!!!!

Now take this a further step.

If you add a little tool to your browsing experience, you can take this research to another lever.

The tools is called SEO Quake and there is a version for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

This little tool sits in your taskbar and is handy whenever you are researching.

Click the URL above to download and install SEO Quake to your computer.

Above is the icon that sits down in your taskbar, not original size, of course :-)

Below is what you get when you activate it.

Click on any of the little question marks and you will get any results that are available for whatever that section refers to.

If you click on Source, you will get the source code results and the keywords the particular site is optimized for, plus other information relating to that site.

Also if you click through to the site, the bar will be displayed at the top of the site page and there is an extra field called Info

image

Click on that and you will be taken to SEO Quake’s site with more information about the site.

There is a whole lot of keyword research you can do in a very short time without having to go off to so many different sites.

So if you take the Wonder Wheel adventure you can take your keyword research to a whole new level.

image

This is like a one stop shop, with this menu above that is on the left of the screen, you can extend your search options. You can search videos, forums, reviews, and see what the results were for the past 24 hours, past week or even the past year. All valuable information!

No need to go back and search again for things like forums, videos, images.

Click on the “More text” and you will see extra information in the results without having to go to the website.

The “Timeline” option is interesting, it goes back, way, way back, worth taking a look but I’ll let you do that on your own.

Okay, that’s it for now, I know you will find so much more that you can do with this Wonder Wheel combined with SEO Quake, so happy researching.

Cheers

Carmel
