Broke The D Key
If you happen to do what I did and ‘break’ your Big D (delete) key in Outlook Express then here is how to fix it. You don’t have to call in the repair man either.
In your Outlook Express, go to your menu at the top and click on Tools, then select Options from the dropdown menu.
From the Options you will get this popup, select Maintenance
Then select Store Folder as below
Now exit from Outlook Express.
Below is what you will get
Highlight and copy the URL string (Ctrl + C)
Go to your Start Menu and select Run…
Paste the URL string into “Run” by using Ctrl + V
Click OK
Here is where you will find the file you need to delete
Now you can open up Outlook Express and resume deleting, the Big D key should be working again.
If for some reason that doesn’t work for you, you should be able to find the Deleted Items.dbx file in
C:Documents and SettingsYourNameLocal SettingsApplication Data
In the Application Data folder there should be a folder called Identities and in that folder there should be another folder with a long string of letters and numbers similar to this {F86F9A67-0D7F-4F34-9835-294D2A690A2F} and in there you will find the Microsoft folder where that Deleted Items.dbx file is.
